To keep track of the score, a baccarat table has a score sheet and a croupier who acts as the designated “scorer”. While it’s not necessary to read the score, players should always have their bets marked so they can quickly see which bets are winning and losing.
The Player bet has a lower house edge than the Banker bet, but it also has a low payout of 1:1 (your initial bet back plus your winnings). To counteract this, smart players will almost always place their bets on the banker side, as it has a much better long-term return-to-player percentage.

The 1-3-2-6 system is an example of a popular method for managing your bankroll, in which you bet two units of your bankroll per round until it’s gone. This helps prevent over-betting during a losing streak and can reduce how much you lose when you’re on a hot streak.
